The soccer stadiums are almost ready to host the biggest sporting event ever in South Africa. 3.1 million tickets area available and 7000 000 have already been sold. About half was sold in South Africa.
The Cape Town International airport is complete. Work at OR Tambo in Johannesburg where the bulk of soccer fans will be landing is well underway. The word is that everything is ready, we are good to go!
A concern for many visitors is the crime in South Africa. All efforts are put in place to ensure the world cup is safe and that tourists will have a great stay in South Africa. More than 41 000 police officers will be deployed during the soccer world cup. This is to ensure a higher visibility of the law. Also, specific courts have been allocated (over 54 of them) to handle any issues relating to the soccer event.
